What is an "exotic" car?
Many have their definitions of what an exotic car is. Most base it on how much the car costs, how the doors open, the country of origin, customization or personalization, performance figures, or other various aspects of a particular car. Without a doubt these are all contributing factors when deciding the class of a car, but the most simple way to put it is, do you see one everyday? In other words, are you likely to see one in a traffic jam, parking lot, or during a daily commute? If the answer is no, then it's probably close to being exotic. But, there's more...
An exotic car is also likely to be limited production, scarce, personalized or created in an unusual way, perhaps incorporates unusual materials in its components, has an unusual appearance or design, and is generally not intended for a large market audience of buyers.
Still don't know if your car is exotic... Here are some examples:
Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Pagani, Bugatti, Koenigsegg, Maserati (MC20, GT), Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Dodge Viper, Spyker, Various Porsche (918, GT3RS, Carrera GT), Saleen, Various Mercedes (SLS, SLR, AMG GTR, AMG GTS, etc), BMW I8, Audi R8, Ford GT, Acura NSX, Lexus LFA, the list continues.
Here are some cars that are NOT exotic:
Base Porsche 911, Maserati Ghibli, Most Corvettes, Dodge Hellcat, BMW M Series (M2, M3, M4, M5, M6), Audi S and RS Series (S4, RS4, S5, RS5, etc.), Mercedes Benz (E63 AMG, C63 AMG, S65 AMG, G63 AMG), Tesla, Toyota, Mustang, Honda, Lexus, and/or other ‘mass produced’ types of cars.
Just because your vehicle may make a lot of horsepower does NOT mean that car is exotic. We are also a lifestyle club, looking to add people who will add to our experiences and not take away from it.
